The Buffer Zone Diet: How to Harness Your Hidden Fuel for a Slimmer and Healthier You

Review: The Buffer Zone Diet is a fast read about the world of dieting and why we as a society are still not able to figure it all out. Cuellar explains to the novice how his experience with dieting has been an uphill battle, but a winnable battle nonetheless. This book reads more as a memoir, than a self-help book and can be consumed in one sitting. The one major flaw that stuck out for me was his use of Wikipedia as a source for information. I being an educator know the pros and cons of this website and would not use it as my sole source of information. I have never seen it used so extensively and would suggest that he reference the actual sources taken from Wikipedia in the future. However, Cuellar has published other books and is a very reliable source in general, so this did not impact my view of the book. I like the simplicity of his chapters and that he was so brutally honest with his struggle. Overall, this book is highly recommended for anyone who is looking to begin a weight loss program or needs a little bit of motivation in their current endeavors.

From the Publisher:
The Buffer Zone Diet contains the formula for regulating weight in the human body: It's not just what you eat, it's when you eat. The timing and frequency of your meals are as important as the meals themselves.

About the book:
WHAT'S YOUR LIFE WORTH?
When you' re drowning, the last thing you do before you go unconscious is take a breath. The carbon dioxide rises so much in your blood it overpowers the last few molecules of oxygen in your body. You reach your breaking point, then you inhale.

Author Fred Cuellar inhaled food his whole life until he reached his breaking point in his battle with weight loss. Right at the moment he was ready to give up, he had a few last thoughts:
·     What if there were things he believed that weren't true?
·     What if calories in and calories out had exceptions?
·     What if we don't all metabolize food the same?
·     Why can't we successfully lose weight and keep it off?

Cuellar made it his mission to answer these questions his life depended on it. In his quest to break the weight loss code, he discovered the Buffer Zone that space between meals that is as important as the meals themselves. This is where he found his truth.

In The Buffer Zone Diet readers will discover:
