Love Is a Mix Tape: Life and Loss, One Song at a Time by Rob Sheffield
Review: I felt I had to read this book based on all the hype it has gotten in various music magazines lately and the number of friends who read it and told me I must "give it a whirl". I was not disappointed, but not totally impressed either. Each chapter starts off the same way. Sheffield lists a mix tape with artist and song titles and an actual title of the whole tape itself. The chapter then unravels that time in his life and why certain songs were selected. It is a nice memoir that shows us how he deals with the loss of his wife and how certain music brought him back to those memories. Overall, I think this is a good "beach" or "commuter"read.
