Review:
This is O'Connor at her best. I just read this story with my Honors English class today and was really impressed at how much they grasped from it. Of course, they did not get any of the religious symbolism, but we did have a heated conversation about racism and rebellion. If you are teaching a unit on prejudices, this is a great story to read and there are tons of lesson plans online that can help you with your class discussions.sites to check out:
